Youth Employment and Skills Program Funding

The Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Youth Employment and Skills Program provides funding to organizations for the creation of agricultural jobs that provide career-related work experiences and skills for youth in Canada. 

  • Intake for applications are now open.
  • If you are approved and have recently hired a youth, your project may start retroactively as early as April 15, 2021
  • Approved projects will be eligible to receive 50% of total eligible costs, up to a maximum of $14,000 in matching funds
  • Indigenous applicants, and applicants who hire a youth facing barriers, are eligible to receive 80% of total eligible costs, up to a maximum of $14,000 in matching funds
  • There is $5,000 in additional funds that can be used to relocate an employee within Canada or to support the employment of a youth facing barriers
