4-H provides lifelong leadership and learning skills to the youth in our communities. UFA has supported Alberta 4-H for decades and we are excited to help support Alberta 4-H in their educational outdoor kitchen facility at the Alberta 4-H Centre in Westerose.
“This new space will connect agriculture and the importance of local food production for Alberta 4-H youth,” says Kimberly MacDonald, Community Investment Manager for UFA. “We are proud to be a part of bringing agricultural awareness and programming to youth through experiential learning opportunities.”
Along with agricultural teaching, programming at the facility will include guest speakers and collaborative projects.
Construction is projected to start in 2022 and when complete, this new outdoor kitchen will become a place for the community to come together, all around food. Afterall, where do most home gatherings take place? The kitchen of course!
UFA will be matching funds for all donations received from now until December 31, 2021, up to a total of $20,000. If you are interested in donating and doubling that dollar, you can donate securely at the 2021 Educational Outdoor Kitchen Facility Year-end Campaign link here.
