The deadline to apply for the On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) is Monday, November 7 at 4:30 p.m. MST.
The Agricultural Climate Solutions OFCAF is an initiative to help farmers tackle climate change by providing financial support to accelerate their adoption and implementation of on-farm Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) to lower Greenhouse Gas emissions, and support production efficiency, sustainability and resiliency on their farm operations. To assist producers with the adoption, the program will offer resources to support implementation and provide design recommendations.
There are three activity categories in the OFCAF program:
- Improving Nitrogen Management
- Increasing Adoption of Cover Cropping
- Expanding the Adoption of Rotational Grazing
Before submitting an application to the OFCAF program, producers will need to ensure the BMPs they are planning to implement are recommended and approved by a Professional Agrologist (PAg) or Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). OFCAF applicants can apply for cost-shared funding to support agronomic and advisory services for up to 10% of their project costs or a maximum of $2,000.
