As a co-operative, UFA knows there is strength in numbers and this week announced its support for the Alberta Fires Appeal Fund through the Canadian Red Cross. UFA recognizes the devastating impact that wildfires have on communities and the importance of supporting those in need during difficult times.
UFA has committed $10,000 to the Alberta Fires Appeal Fund with the Canadian Red Cross. Until the end of May, we are inviting members and customers to join us to ensure Alberta has the funds needed to support relief efforts. If you have a few dollars to add to your purchase we are encouraging you to consider donating. Donations made by May 31, 2023, will have triple the impact. The Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta will each match every dollar donated to the Canadian Red Cross 2023 Alberta Fires Appeal. This means that every $1 donated will become $3 to support those affected by the wildfires.
For larger donations, please donate directly to the Alberta Fires Appeal Fund with the Canadian Red Cross and receive a tax receipt.
Emergency personnel are actively responding to the wildfires and helping those in need and the Alberta Fires Appeal Fund provides critical support to those affected by the wildfires, including emergency financial assistance, food, clothing and shelter.
We are encouraging our members and customers to support the Alberta Fires Appeal Fund by donating at the till when making a purchase at any UFA location in Alberta.
